Ridge Types

You can choose either a plain ridge or a patterned ridge.

plain flush ridge
This is an example of a flush ridged roof.

You can choose between a flush butt-up finish.
Or a flush wrapover finish.

Again you have two types to choose between.
You can have a block cut patterned butt-up ridge finish.
Or a block cut patterned wrapover ridge.

Simple flush ridges are more traditional and are generally regarded as more"in keeping" with the character of older properties, particularly if they are of cob wall construction. Some properties, however, do lend themselves to decorative ridges. If you are in a dilemma we can advise.

All ridging jobs include renewing the ridge rolls as required, and covering the ridge with new galvanised wire netting as a precaution against bird and storm damage.

We generally use combed wheat for ridges, although other materials such as sedge or rye straw are available if requested.

With patterned ridges we generally use a "U-V-U" design but can tailor the pattern to your specific requests.
